The weighting of a fly allows it to be presented at a depth desired by the angler. This does not mean that a weighted nymph will fish better than an unweighted model, it all depends on the fishing conditions. Brass ballast is finer than tungsten and will drag the fly less deep while using the appearance of the ball to attract the fish. We also offer weighting wire (lead free) and various materials to help nymphs sink.
