The Loopwing May Fly pattern incorporates a loop-shaped yarn wing. This loop imitates the wings coming out of the wing box and positions the fly just inside the film. Sometimes it is only at this stage that trout take May flies. Don't think that during the May Fly period the fish will only take the imitation you offer them, they will take at all stages of the evolution and beware of those whose boxes are mono models! The flight period of the Mayfly can be two weeks or several months depending on the river and the year. This Mayfly imitation is super effective in suggesting both the Mayfly Vulgata and the Mayfly Danica.
