FLUVIUS FLY ROD

Not just half a foot, but an extended repertoire. The 9'6″ #5 is not just a festive dry fly rod for long casts, but also an excellent boat and floating rod. And if you need to underhand cast, it's incredibly easy with this one. It is also fun and effective for light fishing for sea trout and sea bass. But the biggest advantage of the 9'6″ #5 is the control you get when mending line in a fast and/or choppy river current. The rod is taut, but deep enough and has a combination of power and sensitivity rarely found in a #5 rod. It is therefore our favourite for dry fly fishing in relatively large rivers and for light breezes on mountains and forest swamps with small nymphs or bush flies such as "Vera". The rod is designed for use by lures with relatively heavy or long clumps in class 5 or shorter and lighter clumps in class 6. In other words we use #5 on long casts from shore or in a waded position or #6 when fishing from a boat.
