Often rising fishes without flying flies leave the angler without an answer.

But regularly it is the emergence of caddisflies that are caught by trout and grayling in their ascending phase before they can break through the surface tension and hatch. This emergent sedge has everything it takes to get the job done. A Cul de Canard wing to float while leaving all or part of the body in the film or below the surface, a curved hook that gives the right shape to the body and overall silhouette.

The diffuse dubbing body traps air bubbles and the pearl tinsel accentuates the visual effect. This fly can also be deliberately saturated with water to fish a few millimetres below the surface and be pulled to trigger attacks.
